Measuring cups are widely used in laboratories of scientific research, colleges and universities, medical and health care, industrial and mining enterprises and other units. They can be used for volumetric calculation of various volumes of liquids or irregular solid substances, and sometimes for glass cylinders or receivers. The shape of the glass measuring cup is conical , which can hold more liquid than the measuring cylinder. The calibration of the measuring cup is not uniformly distributed, and the higher the calibration is, the smaller the interval is. Before use, it must be cleaned, dried and flattened. Then, the solution is injected into the calibration line slightly higher than the required capacity. Then, the excess part is slowly poured out, and the lower edge of the solution is just on the upper edge of the calibration line of the required capacity, that is, the capacity to be measured. When the solution is poured out of the cylinder, it should be poured out slowly from the mouth. Finally, the cylinder mouth is contacted with the wall of the receptacle to remove the final solution. Any measuring cylinder is used to measure the volume of liquids roughly. It should not be used to store liquids, because a-cid or alkali liquids can erode glass.
